Essay on Main teenage problems

Hi, everyone! My name is Ann and I’m 15. It seems to me that I’m a typical teenager with typical teenage problems. It’s not a secret that teenagers face many problems and their life is influenced by their parents, friends, living conditions, education and so on. Furthermore, they are not strong enough to resist and overcome these problems. I’m absolutely convinced that this period of life is the most difficult and I’ll try to explain why.

First of all, I feel dependent on my parents all the time. I have to coordinate all my actions with their wishes and their "you may" or "you may not". They think that my life and my problems are not important and don’t even try to understand or support me. They just moralize and try to show they know everything better. It only leads to everyday quarrels and nothing else.

Secondly, I feel ugly and uncertain. It’s a real problem to find friends and to become a part of society. If I want to be with a company I have to follow the rules of their behavior thinking about my every action or phrase. If I’m not like them, I’m a white crow and it means no friends, no talks, and consequently no entertainment. To prove they are cool enough many teenagers get alcohol or drugs addicted or do other dangerous things and I don"t need that.

Moreover, the school causes me a lot of problems too. All teachers are angry and unsympathetic. They just give us tasks and want the results. They don’t treat us as individuals with our own feelings and thoughts. I feel a huge pressure from my parents and teachers. To study hard at school and have good marks. They are interested only in that but not in my knowledge or development. Therefore, it’s a common thing for all teenagers to cheat on exams and tests.

From my point of view, all these problems are connected with a lack of attention and understanding. All teenagers want to be heard and treated as adults. It’s important for us to trust the people around and stay ourselves.

Всем привет! Меня зовут Аня и мне 15 лет. Мне кажется, что я типичный подросток, с моими типичными подростковыми проблемами. Ни для кого не секрет, что подростки сталкиваются со многими проблемами, и их жизнь находится под влиянием родителей, друзей, условий жизни, образования и многого другого. Более того, они не настолько сильны, чтобы противостоять и преодолевать эти проблемы. Я абсолютно уверена, что этот период жизни — самый сложный, и я постараюсь объяснить почему.

Прежде всего, я чувствую постоянную зависимость от моих родителей. Я должна согласовывать все свои действия с их желаниями и их «можно» или «нельзя». Они думают, что моя жизнь и мои проблемы не важны и даже не пытаются понять или поддержать меня. Они только читают морали и пытаются показывать, что они знают все лучше. Это приводит только к ежедневным ссорам и ни к чему другому.

Во-вторых, я чувствую себя уродливой и неуверенной. Найти друзей и стать частью общества — это настоящая проблема. Если я хочу быть частью компании, я должна следовать правилам их поведения, думая о каждом моем действии или фразе. Если я не такая как они — я — белая ворона, а это означает ни друзей, ни разговоров, а следовательно, никаких развлечений. Чтобы доказать, что они достаточно крутые, многие подростки становятся зависимыми от алкоголя и наркотиков или делают другие опасные вещи, а мне это не нужно.

Более того, школа тоже причиняет мне много проблем. Все учителя — злые и черствые. Они только дают нам задания и требуют результатов. Они не относятся к нам как к личностям, у которых есть свои собственные чувства и мысли. Я чувствую огромное давление со стороны моих родителей и учителей. Учится прилежно и получать хорошие оценки. Их интересует только это, а не мои знания или развитие. Поэтому, это обычное дело для многих подростков списывать на экзаменах и тестах.

С моей точки зрения, все эти проблемы объединены недостатком внимания и понимания. Все подростки хотят, чтобы их услышали и относились к ним как к взрослым. Для нас важно верить людям вокруг и оставаться самими собой.

Teens’ problems

One on the most important is the problem concerning further education. Not every teen can immediately decide what he will be in future. This situation is very difficult. Only a few of them know their goal, and it`s very important for further developing their abilities and talents. Knowing what you want is really a pawn of great success.

As for me, I have not decided yet what I will be in future, but in our school in the eighth form we are to choose the majors of our further education. I understand that, if I don’t like any subject, I shouldn’t despair, I have just o try other sciences. But, if I want to have a good result, I should work hard and not be lazy.

A personal life is very important for young people too. It influences their behavior, character, and, especially, their studies. If a teenager has problems in his, family he will be sharp, aggressive, and very vulnerable. It’s very difficult for him to study, and he doesn’t have any energy for creation. Usually, parents cannot understand what has happened to their child. Sometimes they scold him, but it only underestimates the teen’s self-esteemation.

Sometimes teens are involved into a bad company. They strive to “stand out of the crowd”. That’s why they do stupid and dangerous things.

I think that parents should know what their child does. It’s very good when there is always confidence and understanding in the family.

Another main problem for teenagers is the first love. It is not easy to understand if it is a real love or just some affection. Sometimes they need their parent’s support.

Despite all these difficulties and problems, it is really a good age. Adults often remember those years, the years when they were young, with pleasure. And soon all problems will go away, and there will be only good impressions in the memory!

Что касается меня, я еще не решила, кем я буду в будущем, но в нашей школе в восьмом классе мы должны выбирать направление для дальнейшего образования. Я понимаю, что если я не люблю какой-либо предмет, я не должна отчаиваться, я должна попробовать другие науки. Но если я хочу иметь хороший результат, то нужно упорно трудиться и не лениться.

Личная жизнь очень важна для молодых людей тоже. Она влияет на их поведение, характер и особенно на учебу. Если подросток имеет проблемы в своей семье, то он будет резким, агрессивным, и очень ранимым. Ему очень трудно учиться, и он не имеет энергии для творчества. Обычно родители не могут понять, что случилось с их ребенком. Иногда они ругают его, но это только занижает самооценку подростка.

Иногда подростки попадают в плохую компанию. Они стремятся "выделиться из толпы". Поэтому они делают глупые и порой опасные вещи.

Я думаю, что родители должны знать, чем занимается их ребенок. Это очень хорошо, когда в семье есть доверие и понимание.

Другая важная проблема подростков - это первая любовь. Не так уж и легко понять, настоящая ли это любовь или просто симпатия. Иногда они нуждаются в поддержке своих родителей.

Несмотря на все эти трудности и проблемы, это действительно хороший возраст. Взрослые часто вспоминают с удовольствием те годы, когда они были молоды. И вскоре все проблемы исчезнут, а в памяти останутся только хорошие впечатления!

Our age is so strange. We know that we are on the way to become adults. But this way is so hard. And we teenagers usually stay alone with our thoughts, because nobody even we ourselves understand what is happening around us. There are a lot of problems – that is what we know exactly. And problems are everywhere and we cannot expect why and where they come from. This is very difficult time though some people think that it is the best time. And what is more it"s hard to stay quite and calm. Every young generation has more complicated problems than previous. And maybe nowadays teenagers have more problems then other generations. And this difference awakes misunderstandings with parents. Sometimes it seems that our parents are too tiresome and dull in their demands. And also they often interfere into our life. Parents always say that we are lazy and can"t do anything except rest. Moreover they give not much money, and we hardly can find a job because in our age we cannot be responsible for money of firm or do some kinds of job. And there is a great problem: parents also always doubt in our independence. Our age – is time of making a choice what we will be in future, what we want to do and how. So we have to choose the university to have better education and future profession. If you have a good education you"ll be always perfect at you profession and of coarse you"ll earn more money, make your life better. And the best way to prepare is to study better at school. The school ages are also very difficult. We do a lot of homework and even have no time to go for a walk or do whatever we want. Another problem in school – marks. And we try to do our best to have good marks. But our parents never like them. And for boys there is such problem like conscription. And nowadays it" Also nowadays a problem of drugs is very actual. A lot of teenagers have drug addiction. And sometimes they use drugs not because of that they want. And it often leads to bad ends. Moreover, you may have problems with health. Emotional problems for young people can be far more difficult than financial ones. The typical teenager problem is that "nobody understands me". Youth is also the time to meet your first love. It is of coarse wonderful but as it is widely known that first love often has an unhappy end. This also increases young people"s problems. Even friends cannot always stay friends when young people begin to understand themselves a little bit better old friends sometimes just grow apart. And sometimes you have problems in communicating with each other and you even stay alone. So as you see it"s very difficult to be young nowadays as indeed it always was. But you only can be young ones and some wonderful things can happen to you only when you"re young. So it"s better to enjoy youth while it lasts.

Problems of Youth

Life used to be fun for "teenagers". They used to have money to spend, and free time to spend it in. They used to wear teenage clothes, and meet in teenage coffee bars and discos. Some of them still do. But for many young people, life is harder now. Jobs are difficult to find. There"s not so much money around. Things are more expensive, and it"s hard to find a place to live.

Teachers say that students work harder than they used to. They are less interested in politics, and more interested in passing exams. They know that good exam results may get them better jobs.

Most young people worry more about money than their parents did twenty years ago. They try to spend less and save more. They want to be able to get homes of their own one day.

For some, the answer to unemployment is to leave home and look for work in one of Britain"s big cities. Every day hundreds of young people arrive in London from other parts of Britain, looking for jobs. Some find work, and stay. Others don"t find it, and go home again, or join the many unemployed in London. There used to be one kind of teenage fashion, one style, one top pop group. Then, the girls all wore mini-skirts and everyone danced to the music of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

But now an eighteen-year-old might be a punk, with green hair and chains round his legs, or a skin head, with short, short hair and right wing politics, or a "rasta", with long uncombed hair and a love for Africa. There"s a lot of different music around too. There"s reggae, the West Indian sound, there"s rock, there"s heavy metal, country and western, and disco. All these kinds of music are played by different groups and listened to by different fans.

When you read the newspapers and watch the news on television, it"s easy to get the idea that British young people are all unemployed, angry and in trouble.

But that"s not true. Three quarters of them do more or less what their parents did. They do their best at school, find some kind of work in the end, and get married in their early twenties. They get on well with their parents, and enjoy family life. They eat fish and chips, watch football on TV, go to the pub, and like reading about pop stars. After all, if they didn"t, they wouldn"t be British, would they?

Существует масса различной музыки. Есть регги, западно-индийский «саунд», рок, хэви-метал, кантри и вестерн, диско. Все эти стили музыки исполняются разными группами и их слушают разные поклонники.

Когда читаешь газеты и смотришь телевизор, очень легко может сложиться впечатление, что в Англии вся молодежь без работы, обозленная и имеет неприятности.

Это не так. Три четверти из них более или менее занимаются тем же, чем занимались их родители. Они пытаются хорошо учиться в школе, найти хорошую работу и жениться после 20 лет. Они ладят с родителями и наслаждаются семейной жизнью. Они едят рыбу и чипсы, смотрят футбол по телевизору, ходят в бар и любят читать о поп-звездах. В конце концов, если бы они этим не занимались, они не были бы англичанами, не так ли?

All people have problems . Some people have a lot of problems , others have one or two. And no matter how old you are, you will still face difficulties in your life. We can solve some problems but some problems are very hard to solve.

There are a lot of teenagers in our country. A teenager is a person from thirteen to nineteen years of age. And young people here face as many difficulties as grown-up people do.

There are problems, which are common for all young people. These are spending your free time, choosing a good friend, how to deal with your parents and the classmates, finding your place in this world, first love and relations with beloved, choosing where to study after finishing school, alcohol and drugs.

I’m fourteen so I belong to the group of Russian teenagers . One of the most important problems is “a generation gap” - the problem of fathers and sons. Teens usually want to be independent and show this to our parents. And this is kind of depressing when our parents try to control everything we do. Our parents usually don’t understand the clothes that we wear and the music that we listen to. We have different tastes. For example, when I go to the shop with my mom she likes these jeans but I like those ones. She pays and this is often difficult to convince her that this is really what I need. My parents want me to become a doctor as they are skilled teachers but I have a taste for economics, and my dream is to be an accountant. But they say they know better. They often treat us like small children. And this is rather difficult to start listening to each other and understanding each other. Some teens even begin drinking alcohol or smoking just to show that they are grown-ups. That is really stupid, I must say. I don’t like smoking. You must have to be a grown-up inside and a cigarette or a bottle of beer won’t help here. This won’t help you look cool. These bad habits cause health problems in future (for girls especially).

It is a problem to get a good education as well. It is expensive to get a good education nowadays. I think it is difficult to learn a subject well, for example, without additional classes. And you can’t enter a university without good knowledge.

As for the problem of friendship, I always remember a good proverb, "A friend in need is a friend indeed." I like this one because it shows what a true friend must be. I like honest people. And, of course, I want to have a friend who will always listen to me and understand me. I want him or her to support me in difficult situations. If a teen has bad relations with others he tries to find a group to follow for example - goths, emos and others. They try piercing and tattoos.

One of the most serious problems nowadays is taking drugs and AIDS (the disease when the immune system of your body stops working).

The problem of free time is also very important. Where to go, what to do in free time. Every teen must find a hobby or just go in for sports. Not just wander in the street without an aim. We must not forget that it’s good to go to museums, theatres, cinemas and parks even if it is not popular.

There is also a problem of having extra (pocket) money to go out with friends, to make presents to your friends, to buy clothes that you really like. So youth has to earn money - wash cars, sell or deliver newspapers, help old people or work as waiters or waitresses

We have some problems but we are sure that we solve them properly. We make mistakes but only those who do nothing make no mistakes. I think that the young people in other countries have such problems too. The best way to solve them is to be yourself and be responsible for your life.
